The 2018 remastered vinyl LP of Tom Waits' classic sophomore album, The Heart of Saturday Night, was released on May 11, 2018, by Anti- Records. Remastered under the direct supervision of Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, this 180-gram heavyweight pressing breathes fresh analog warmth into the iconic 1974 release.
Originally released in 1974 on Asylum Records, the album captures Waits' shift into smoky, beat-jazz arrangements featuring double bass, tenor sax, and his own signature piano work. The cover art pays direct homage to Frank Sinatra’s In the Wee Small Hours.
