Lambchop's seventeenth studio album, Punching the Clown, releases on August 21, 2026. The album marks frontman Kurt Wagner’s return to foundational songwriting principles, deeply influenced by Scots-Appalachian "lined-out singing" call-and-response gospel traditions. Co-written with guitarist Andrew Broder, it features Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) on banjo and a six-part choir.
