Seeing Through Sound (Pentimento Volume Two) is the eighteenth and final studio album by legendary avant-garde composer and trumpet player Jon Hassell. Released on July 24, 2020, on his own Ndeya record label, this vinyl LP serves as a direct companion piece to his 2018 record, Listening to Pictures. The concept of "pentimento" refers to the reappearance of earlier layers or brushstrokes in a painting, which Hassell mirrors musically by layering textures and using "sound gene-splicing" to create an intoxicating, multi-dimensional listening experience.
