Music Is Invisible (Pentimento Volume Three) is a posthumous vinyl release by the avant-garde composer and "Fourth World" pioneer Jon Hassell, released on October 2, 2026, through his label Ndeya. This record marks the final installment of his critically acclaimed Pentimento trilogy, completing a narrative that began with Listening to Pictures (2018) and Seeing Through Sound (2020).
The album's recordings are sourced from a live performance on May 23, 2015, at St. John at Hackney Church in London, where Hassell played alongside Rick Cox and John von Seggern—marking what would ultimately be his final live concert. Rather than standard raw concert documentation, the tracks were carefully edited and mixed by Jeff Rona into unique, semi-improvised mutations that re-examine themes, motifs, and riffs from Hassell's late-career catalogue.
