This 12-part series of half-hour episodes tells a hilariously unlikely story of an utterly insignificant 30-year-old local children’s program that inexplicably finds itself focus of a sequence of extraordinary occurrences with an ultimately science fictional explanation. Join Smilin’ Tom the puppet co-host (is he a puppet?), Cowboy Slim the disaffected youth co-host-by-proxy (is he a cowboy?), Inspector O’Really the bumbling cop (oh, really?), Phyllis Blanding the TV standards watchdog (is she a dog?), and a host of strange and unlikely guests both terrestrial and otherwise as they try to do a kid’s show but end up with something that really has to be seen to be believed. Suitable for all ages… no, really, it is! Puppets and bright colors for infants, sight gags and silly jokes for toddlers, anti-authoritarian wit for the preteens and teens, hidden meanings and hints at deeper themes for the adults, even a couple things only really old people would get!
