Drone Machines is the third full-length album by the industrial doom metal one-man project Author & Punisher (Tristan Shone). Originally born out of Shone's Master's thesis at the University of California, San Diego, the Drone Machines project centers around custom-fabricated, heavy mechanical controllers and robotic devices designed to require intense physical force to generate raw, mechanical noise and punishing doom landscapes. The album stands as his longest and heaviest work, clocking in at approximately 70 minutes
