Vol.1 is the debut studio album by the eccentric Quebecois math rock duo Angine de Poitrine. Originally self-released digitally and in limited formats in June 2024, the album received a wide international vinyl LP release through ATO Records and Spectacles Bonsaï.
The band—composed of the anonymous, papier-mâché-masked "time-traveling brothers" Khn de Poitrine (microtonal guitars/bass) and Klek de Poitrine (drums)**—gained explosive international momentum following a viral KEXP live session. Their distinct sound is often described as "mantra-rock Dada Pythagorean-Cubist," mixing intricate, microtonal math rock with repetitive, hypnotic grooves reminiscent of a blend between King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and Primus.
