Adrianne Lenker’s Songs and Instrumentals is a critically acclaimed double album released on vinyl LP via 4AD Records. Written and recorded in April 2020 inside a one-room mountain cabin in western Massachusetts after Big Thief’s tour was abruptly cancelled due to the pandemic, this unique project splits her work into two distinct collections across two 12" vinyl discs.
The release is famously celebrated by audiophiles for being a 100% analog (AAA) production. Working alongside engineer Philip Weinrobe, Lenker recorded directly onto tape machines with a binaural head and no digital processing whatsoever. The striking watercolor cover art was painted by Adrianne's grandmother, Diane Lee.
